"During my secondment to the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania I performed many tasks related to my secondment topic “Defining the capacity of 3 main Greek olive varieties to face environmental stresses mainly referred to climatic changes (e.g. drought & salt stress)”. First of all, many discussions were conducted and many ideas were exchanged in order to design our experiment. Then our olive plants were brought from the nursery and we have been taking care of them while we were preparing the glass house, the planting mixture, the irrigation system and the nutrient solution. Once everything was ready, we transplanted the olive plants into the barrels in the glass house and we let them to acclimatize. Many article readings were conducted for a better understanding of the olive tree physiology and response to stress."
